Our Story
Obaro Labs was founded in 2019 by Kevin Okinedo, a machine learning engineer who spent eight years building ML systems at enterprise scale - first at Deloitte's AI practice, then leading applied AI at a Series C healthtech startup. The pattern he saw repeated everywhere was the same: brilliant research, terrible execution. Companies were spending millions on AI initiatives that never left the lab.
The first Obaro Labs engagement was a patient intake system for a mid-size clinic network in Ohio. The project took 10 weeks and reduced intake time by 73%. That client is still with us today. The lesson from that first project shaped everything that followed: start with the workflow, not the model. Understand the people who will use the system before you write a line of code.
By 2021, we had completed 50 projects across healthcare, finance, and legal. We brought on Sarah Chen to lead AI strategy and Marcus Johnson as head of engineering. The team grew to 20 engineers, designers, and strategists - deliberately small enough that every client works directly with senior talent, large enough to handle enterprise-scale deployments.
Today, Obaro Labs has delivered over 250 AI projects across 15 industries and 30+ countries.
